Clinical Assessment
This service conducts an in-depth assessment of an individual’s mental health status. The result is a diagnostic document that highlights the mental health status of a client before deciding treatment. Assessments are sometimes needed for self-evaluation, mandated agencies, court, or insurance purposes.
Brighter Side Counseling is an approved provider by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) in the State of Connecticut to provide Domestic Violence Offender Assessments and Therapeutic Support Services to individuals with active DCF cases.

Domestic Violence Offender Assessment:
This service includes offender’s assessment and DV offenders group. The assessment consists of a face-to-face interview(s) with the offender and may include collateral contacts with family members and community providers. This six-hour service includes a written report with therapeutic recommendations.
Therapeutic Support Staff (TSS):
This service is intended as a component of a comprehensive treatment plan to address the individualized needs of a child or youth with complex behavioral health issues. These individuals have a current diagnosable behavioral health condition that results in moderate to acute functional impairment which substantially interferes with or limits their functioning in family, school, or community activities.
