Group Therapy
Brighter Side Counseling provides psychoeducation group services.
Groups are available on a variety of topics.
Psychoeducation groups focus on providing you with information about specific topics to give you additional resources or information. These groups are more structured; participants are provided with specific topics or modules to discuss and explore. The intention is to enhance your knowledge about the topic, which is often identified in the name of the group.
How do groups work?
Groups generally consist of four or more members that have similar challenges or situations (i.e., parenting, DV, trauma, etc.). The group members meet with me in a structured environment to engage in a safe and comfortable setting.
Typically, the groups are ongoing. A characteristic unique to support groups is the mutual support that members provide to one another.
I am a facilitator.
I am there to educate and support members, although my experience in this area has shown that the support and validation among group members is powerful in helping to facilitate personal growth and changes.
